Privacy Cleaner operates entirely on your device. Here is exactly what data we collect, how we handle it, where it is stored, and who it is shared with.
1. Data Collection
We collect only your settings and preferences (cleaning options, schedule, theme). Usage statistics (storage sizes, data type counts) are computed locally for display only. No browsing history content, no cookie values, no cached file contents, no personal information, no analytics are ever collected.
2. Data Handling
Browsing data (cookies, cache, history) is accessed only to perform the cleaning actions you initiate — never read for content, never stored, never transmitted. Settings are saved locally and used only to configure cleaning behavior. No data is ever sent to our servers or any third party.
3. Data Storage
All data is stored exclusively on your device using chrome.storage.local — sandboxed and inaccessible to other extensions or websites. No cloud storage, no external databases. Cleaning logs (timestamps only) are stored locally and auto-cleared per your schedule. You can delete all data at any time via Extension settings or by uninstalling.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your data with any third parties — no exceptions. The Extension has no backend server and makes zero outbound network requests. Nothing leaves your device.
5. Permissions
browsingData: perform cleaning operations. storage: save settings locally. alarms: schedule auto-clean intervals. notifications: alert you when cleaning completes. contextMenus: add quick-clean to right-click menu. All permissions are strictly necessary for core functionality.
6. No Tracking or Analytics
Zero analytics, zero crash reporting, zero telemetry. We do not track how you use the extension, what sites you visited, or how often you clean. None of that data is collected, stored, or shared.
7. Children's Privacy
The Extension is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any data from minors.
